Why Smart Healthy Eating?
Greetings! I’m Dr. Cameron Harrison. Welcome to the Smart Healthy Eating Blog.
A short time ago I was sitting with a patient in my office, discussing her health and her goals. She related to me she had a surgical procedure (tummy tuck) done because she was tired of starving all the time, and never getting rid of her belly fat. I felt like I had seriously let her down. Although she wasn’t coming to see me for weight loss, I knew that she could have easily lost the weight if she had the right information about how to eat.
We’re going to cover all manner of topics here, but all of them will relate to eating smart one way or another. Why “Smart” healthy eating? Well, because frankly we’ve gotten pretty stupid about what and how we eat. It’s crazy enough that what is supposedly “Healthy Eating” is actually killing us.
In my 25 years of clinical practice one thing has become clear – Somehow we have fallen pretty far off track and as a result we have health issues that have become “epidemic”. That’s why we need “Smart” healthy eating.
Suppose for a moment there is a way to NOT get diabetes, heart disease, and obesity – or to reverse it. (It’s not the way you think) And suppose for a moment that it will mean you will have to IGNORE the common wisdom being touted by “big Pharma” and “big healthcare”. You may have to tune out the “Newest diet breakthrough” and tune in to the food that your grandparents ate – (real food). It may mean you’ll have to look at eating from a completely different perspective.
It may mean you’ll be able to stop taking some of the drugs you have been told to take.
For most the journey will be an easy one. As we walk through the facts together, you’ll be reminded of how things used to be. Simple. Delicious. Filling. Maybe it should be called “Easy Smart Healthy Eating”.
We’ll talk about what to eat and what not to, and how to eat, and how not to – all backed up with solid science, and armed the knowledge that hundreds of thousands have gone before, and turned it all around.
You can too.
